HOME on Internet Explorer and Netscape:
The HOME button (illustrated by a house icon) on Internet Explorer and Netscape provides the same function. Clicking on "Home" will return you to the Home page set up on the computer on which you are working. Computers at College of the Canyons are set with the College URL as the Homepage.
You may set up any page of your choice to be the home page of your computer. You may set up different home pages for different browsers if you wish.
To set up the Home page on Internet Explorer:
1. Click on "Tools" on the Menu bar and then click on "Internet Options."
2. When the Internet Options window opens, click on the "General" tab if it isnt already open.
3. Enter the URL of your choice in the Address space of the Home Page window. Click "OK." When the windows disappear, click the Home button. Your new home page should appear.
To set up the Home page on Netscape:
1. Click on "Edit" on the Menu bar, and then on Preferences. The Navigator window will open.
2. You may set up Netscape Navigator to open to a blank page, the last page visited or a home page. If you click on Home page look in the Home Page box Location window. This will display your current home page. Delete the current URL and add one of your choosing.
NOTE: You have the option of setting up Netscape as your default browser at this time. Click Set Default Browser if you wish Netscape to be the browser-of-choice when you click on hyperlinks in articles. You may also add and delete toolbar buttons. Click on the checkboxes of the buttons you wish to appear in your toolbar.
3. Click "OK." The windows will disappear. Click on the Home icon. Your new home page should appear.
The "Refresh" function on Internet Explorer:
Use the Refresh button (illustrated by a piece of paper with two arrows on it) to reload the page you are currently reviewing. This operation is important to know if you spend a lot of time with pages that have constantly changing information (such as stock quotes or news headlines).
If you are on an email page, or other password-protected page, you may be asked to sign-in again after clicking the Refresh button.
The "Reload" function using Netscape:
Use the Reload button (illustrated by an curved arrow icon on older versions of Netscape Navigator, and by a upward tilting arrow on newer Netscape versions) to reload the page you are currently reviewing. This operation is important to know if you spend a lot of time with pages that have constantly changing information (such as stock quotes or news headlines).
If you are on an email page, or other password-protected page, you may be asked to sign-in again after clicking the Reload button.
