MSN:
There is no identifiable marker for an attachment on MSN. One way that MSN or Hotmail users may acknowledge an attachment is by checking the file size of the message received. Simple messages usually appear 1 - 12 KB in size. Anything larger usually means that there is an attachment.|
After opening the email message, if there are attachments included, their titles will appear on the Attachment line, just below the Subject and Date lines in the message.
There is no method of "Opening" the attachment. It will usually appear at the bottom of the email message and will open as you open the email message.
OUTLOOK:
Messages containing attachments are identified by the appearance of a paperclip icon next to the sender's name in the Inbox.
1. Locate the message that you wish to open and double-left click on it.
2. When the item opens, double-left click on the attachment located either at the bottom of the screen or within the text of the message.
YAHOO:
Messages containing attachments are identified by the appearance of a paperclip icon next to the subject line in the Inbox.
1. Locate the message that you wish to open and double-left click on it.
2. When the item opens, scroll to the bottom of the message to locate the attachment. An "Attachment" box containing the file name and a menu of items to select identifies each attachment. Sometimes, however, the attachment will arrive already open. If it doesn't, continue with the following instructions.
3. Always scan attachments before viewing or downloading. It is easy to spread a computer virus through attachments, purposely or accidentally.
4. Most often, you will want to click on "View Attachment." If you have scanned the document for viruses first, a "Scan Results" page will inform you of any viruses that are present. From this page you may view the attachment, download it, save it to your Yahoo Briefcase, or return to the original message.
